I had the great honor to give a talk at an O’Reilly Ignite event about a month ago. If you are unfamiliar with Ignite it is a meeting of tech enthusiasts where people can give 5 minute talks about technology or projects they are working on. It is a great structure and it was an very interesting experience. My talk was called “Personal Fabrication: 2013″ and it covered the historical evolution of personal fabrication as well as technological trends shaping its future, video below:
The highlight of the event was a keynote delivered by Tim O’Reilly. His theme was “Web Meets World” and he exhorted the audience to turn their formidable talents towards solving the great issues of our time: Education, environmental preservation, global health and other worthy causes. It is a great argument and a filled with interesting info and cool companies:
