Thanksgiving

by Joseph Flaherty on November 27, 2008

Thanksgiving is now upon us providing a moment to pause and consider our considerable good fortune. This talk from the TED conference, delivered by Neil Gershenfeld (professor at MIT) encapsulates many of the things I am thankful for:

- The good fortune to live in an era of such exciting technologoical development.

- The ability to watch brilliant lectures that took places thousands of miles away from the comfort of my office.

- The luck of being born into a time and place where material deprivation is not a fact of life.

a lotta new abilities people have never had before, but none of it luck! don't forget having the ability to communicate with so many people and being able to meet new friends, in an otherwise unsocial kinda world. that's one of my many things!

    have a great thanksgiving!
