If you look to the software world, there are several new developments in mass customization - most notably, mass customization of the operating system. With tools released just last month, Waltham based Novell offers SUSE Studio (<a href="http://susestudio.com" rel="nofollow">susestudio.com</a>), a free online tool enabling users to mass customize their operating system in just minutes, and yet remain fully supported by Novell. What does this mean? It means the days of the monolithic, bloated, resource intensive operating system are numbered.
