People have imagined an iTunes-esqe store that could be used with 3D printers, lasers, and CNC mills. Thingiverse the online 3D model repository, is a step in the right direction, but there is still a long way to go.
While not quite a mass customization catalog, the latest iTunes Podcast Spotlight does feature a collection of great podcasts centered around the DIY ethos. Howcast, Threadbanger, and Make: and others are well worth a watch/listen and hopefully this is just sample of what’s to come.
