i recently had a similar experience with Tim Brown (of IDEO)'s book. Rehashed examples that appeared in both of Tom Kelley's books and as you said, have been absolutely beaten to death.. Design is the hot thing this decade and there are still many that don't get what those with a design background, have known for decades.. Now. I Miss My Pencil by Kara Johnson is a completely different kettle of fish – superb, with some real insight and interesting points of thought..

I don't find this embarrassing as long there is a permission from the original authors and as long as the new author improved and elaborate what the original authors wrote . It's difficult to research on book which tells exactly about the topic you like. That requires a lot of reading and time consuming. To write informative books needs information from other authors.
